Stock Class Rules

  • the "PriceRite" and the "Plagiarist" are the accepted models but other models of a similar type may be accepted on the day - competition director's prerogative (in the event that there are insufficient entries to justify a stock class event, the stock entries will be merged into the sport class)
  • .49 maximum engine size. No special high performance engines
  • No modifications allowed to engine. Standard cast aluminium muffler with baffle in place
  • Maximum 4 channels (aileron (1 or 2 servos), elevator, rudder, throttle)
  • Allowed Modifications:
    • Wing Bolts instead of rubber bands
    • After market undercarriage instead of supplied wire u/c
    • After market push-pull control linkages. Pull-pull cables of any type not allowed
    • Tail Wheels may be added
    • Tricycle undercarriage

NB: the more advanced the pilot, the more strictly these rules will be applied.

 

Sport Class Rules

  • Must NOT be a model that is purpose built for racing (eg Vipers and Quickie 500 types go in Open Class)
  • .49 maximum engine size. No special high performance engines

  • Maximum 4 channels (aileron (1 or 2 servos), elevator, rudder, throttle)

Open Class Rules

  • ANYTHING GOES! (except gas turbines)

Novice Class Rules

  • Must use trainer type aircraft. Can be low or high wing trainer but excludes scale-like warbirds and similar (they're sport class)
  • Pilot must be able to fly proficiently (Bronze Wings)
  • Pilot must have been flying less than 12 months

1/12 Scale Class Rules

  • Only 1/12 scale warbirds
  • No profiles
  • Undercarriage optional

Glider

  • The competition is open to any size or type of glider
  • Bungee launches must be made using the club bungee provided

Electric

  • The competition is open to any size or type of electric powered model
  • If there are sufficient Mugis entered then there will be a Mugi class for them, else they'll be in the electric class

Mugi

  • Scratch built to Mugi plans
  • Can be scaled up by as much as 25%
  • No motor size limit but maximum of 40amp esc and one ELECTRIC motor
  • Must be in the spirit of Mugis - no Mugi shaped carbon fibre rockets
