- Biplane Day
- When:
- 19.06.2010
- Where:
- WRCS Field - Belrose
- Category:
- Flying Event
Description
Field will be open for general flying.
Pilot briefing 9:30am for a 10am start to the flying.
The biplane day and it’s trophy are designed to encourage the noble art of multi-wing flying. Club competition points will be awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place based on the votes of the other multi-wing pilots. Each pilot will get a form to vote for 3 planes, not his (or her) own, and will receive 5 pts himself/herself for entering and flying.!
The “Best Biplane” trophy (or triplane …. Or even quadraplane!) is awarded to the best plane (not necessarily the same as the pilots vote) as judged by the previous year’s winner. His judgement is his alone and he will take into consideration:
Overall appearance of the plane – colour scheme, finish etc
Degree of effort – scratch built by the pilot from plans counts higher than built from a kit which counts higher than an ARF
Flying – smoothness of take off, circuits, landing and if scale, flying in a “scale like” manner. It must fly, this is not a static award.
Complexity – quality detailed scale beats rough non-scale every time!
Bribes are not to be offered to, or taken by, the judge.
