Description
Basic formula:
- Any electric powered aircraft
- Only one airframe for the event
- Maximum battery 3S2200ma lipo
- Maximum power 2000kV motor (only 1 - no multi-engined setups!)
- Final score will be adjusted as follows:
- 4 or more channel aircraft - multiply by 60%
- 3 or less channel aircraft - 100%
- Multiplex Easystar - 110%
Events:
- Climb and glide - 5 minute maximum + spot landing (motor run time will be deducted from final score)
- Touch and go's - number made in 1 pass of the strip followed by a "go round' + spot landing
- Limbo passes in 1 minute followed by spot landing
- Loops - number in 30 seconds followed by spot landing
- Team relay race - two teams (team A from place getter 1, 3 ,5 etc and team B from place getters 2, 4, 6 etc after above rounds) - 1st entrant for each team flies 1 lap of the course and, on passing finish line, next entrant for that team launches and so on until all in team have completed. Winner is 1st team to complete
- Mass launch to complete the event (no points for event 6!)
Scoring
- Spot landings score +30 inside 5m, +20 inside 10m, +10 inside 15m
- Climb and glide 1 point per second airborne, less 1 point per second motor run, also deduct 1 point per second over or under the 5 minute allowance
- Touch and go - 5 points for one touch, and each additional touch scores 10 points (eg 7 touches is 65 points)
- Limbo - 10 points per pass
- Loops - 5 points per completed loop
- Team race - 10 points per member of winning team, 5 points per member of losing team
Safety is paramount, and common sense must prevail! This is a fun event, hopefully to capture some of the essence of the BOAT days of old.
As this is a first time for this event, it is possible that the rules may be amended on the day in the interests of FUN.
