Hi Gary at last we agree on something yes the F4U was a fantastic aircraft but why the hell they put it onto aircraft carriers beats me it was deadly not only to the Japs but to the guys flying it and trying to "land on".
I have just finished a book called "Carrier Pilot" by Norman Hanson he was one of the few to survive a spin in on trying to "land on" but only just, from what i have read in this book the aircraft killed more pilots then the Japs did.
Now if you behave yourself and are nice on Sunday and say pretty please i will lend you the book to read.
Dave.
