Luddite!

What will the WRCS scale rules be for scoring this magnificent flying machine.....the number of F22 pilots that didn't get killed because the robots were doing it for them from the safety of Cherry Creek in North Carolina with 4 relaxed shifts a day from a 5 star luxury shipping container with a sumptuous meal every night with his wife and family and puppy wagging his tail under the cherrywoods.....or does the score come from the Castor oil burns as he spirals his SE5a into the old Bailey in a ball of searing flames from 500 feet in a hopeless tightening spin?

Luddite!

I don't want to make you too modern too fast......but my wonderful Quad copta creation is in fact an 8 winger.

Each propeller blade is an independent wing.

I have 4 propellers with two blades on each prop. These generate ALL of the lift...so my beautiful Triffid is in fact an eighth-oh-plane.

This should give me about an 8000 point starting bonus on scale days.

Over to you Luddite!...and your comittee crutches.

I Think these are just Fantastic!

What a great accumulation of everything that is available now on the cutting edge technical front of our hobby.

They ,if properly set up can even fly and land themselves on any flat surface other than water, like for example a concrete runway.
(but then ...maybe with quad floats?)
Probably a great bit of gear for those of us who find that a bit to dangerous to try and do that themselves? :mrgreen:

Wow,

You have finally risen from the ashes you ole Pheonix.

Hoist the spinaker and fill your wings with air.

Nice to hear from you.

Now let's give everybody a fresh start, I think a lot of fun focus is invading our great club and if nobody grumbles we should give gravity a good run for its money!

.....the Good!

Hi Mate,

I'm inspired by our great Prime Minister, who despite a lot of negative nay-Sayers that are using fear (as usual) to get the public opinion against her, still gets on with the job, and she is the first political leader here in this country and elsewhere in a long time to actually implement policy because it is the right thing to do , rather then just politics to gain ore retain power.

But this is a club forum ,and comments should be club and hobby related, so congrats on being a bit of a phoenix yourself, with the explorations you make into this new side of model flight!

Ground Station:
========================
ACER AspireOne AOD255E tiny notebook $279 - Dick Smith
Imation slim line exterior USB DVD Burner $100 ( For ACER ) - Dick Smith
DTEC MPEG4 HD Twin tuner PVR with 500gb HD and USB OUT ( to ACER to write DVD's on Imation )

Screw up.....18" Dick Smith HD TV with DVD player (smallest decent Screen contrast on display )...too big for silver case by 1"

I now have a $200 Static inverter from Jaycar with TRUE sine wave output....my 2 bar flouro batten runs in Pegasus..like daylight in there at nite!

===================
Power Budget:
If I were to run the ground station off 240v inverter then

TV 30W
DTEC 20W
ACER on own power...or plug pack ~40W
total 50~100w at 12v = 5~10amps or run the 3KVA HONDA Generator....

g
=============

The little ACER notepad lets me do these good things in addition to writing files from the STB 500gb recording drive to DVD's
:
setting parameters/USB/....ArduPilotMegaPlanner/GPS way points etc......and ChecKit 3 for the Range Video controller.

Big bonus...a simple VGA cable from the VGA socket on the side of the Aspire to the VGA in socket on the base of the 18" TV screen means that the tenny-weeny-liddle Netbook goes from a 10" wimpy screen ( ok for general use ) to a bone shattering 18" LCD master screen...It all plugs together and it all works just great!
