Helicopter combat

Postby blackfingernail » 22 Oct 2009, 17:07

I had a couple of the Heli guys come up to me as they new we were organizing next years club contests and suggested we try Helicopter Combat, i asked the fixed wing guys they all thought it was a very good idea, and suggested that we have ten choppers up at the same time all with streamers on, five at each end of the field and on the word GO they all scream down the runaway heading toward each other and the combat starts all trying to cut each others streamers, and we have ten rounds of 30 minutes each round and the last heli standing gets a prize, the winner can pick a fixed wing foamy electric thing from Hobby Hero's in Brookvale.
If there is enough support from the Heli guys and the fixed wing guys could you let me know here with your responses and we will consider it for next years contest calender.
Oh i had a substantial offer of payment from the fixed wing guys so they could film the contest.
Dave.

Sounds great, all the action right in front of the pilots, the only place where heliz seem to operate, they can use auto-rotate to unwind a tangled streamer, one heli could winch an injured mate to the ground.

10 points for bravery if you enter!

-10 points if you go more than 20m left or right from the field centre....just like ordinary heli flying rules.

Ahhh, must have missed this post :(

I could think of a few additional ways to earn bonus points....
  • 10 points for each plane we can chop up
  • 50 points for each heli landing on top of a plane (bottom is ok as well, most planes anyway tumble over during take off or landing)
  • 20 points for each fixed wing guy chased from the field and 100 bonus points if he doesn't return!

Sounds really exiting, sort of an extended fun day  I'll go and register.....

Only problem is I need to remember to leave my planes at home for heli combat day...
