Where is my post

Postby Michael Hills » 24 Aug 2010, 21:25

I just spent half an hour responding to Lonz's post on eneloop batteries and it disappeared as soon as I sent it off saying the whole thread could not be found? I've lost track of the number of times I've lost whole posts on this forum. It's very annoying!!!!!!

It was a really great post too and I'm not sure I can be bothered spending another hour finding all the info again. It's really strange, the whole thread disappeared.

next time I'll at least copy the text before hitting the submit button.

Oh, and what is the "save" button for anyway?

I'm sure you are already doing it right, but anyone posting make sure that you click on SUBMIT rather than SAVE. I'm nowhere near competent to work out why, but there we go. If you are still having trouble, look out for Peter Wyss on a Saturday at Belrose. He's much more likely to know what the cause is!

I figured out what it was, Lonz started the thread, then while I was replying, he deleted it. The browser could not find the post to submit too, and so it was lost. Kind of a shame as I spent about an hour on it making sure I had the info right.

Can someone explain exactly what the save button does? I clicked on that once too by accident intending to submit, and again the post disappeared into the ether.
