Let us know how it goes Lonzo.

Good luck with the HK Carbon prop. Iv'e got a 23x8 but have not flown it because it is just so far out of balance it isn't funny. Looks nice though, and by my calibrated eyeball, appears to be the exact profile as the Vox and Xoar which I really love.

I have been very happy with my XOAR 23x8 in the GeeBee Y G62...strong and well balanced.

I ordered the XRIIB27x10 XR Type B Beechwood ( above ) to give me a second chance with the DLA....

ps...Mike I can't put a face to your name...have we met at the field....how about an Avatar or happy snap? :D

hi Gary, are you going to bench run the engine first? If it was me i would to get to know the engine, tuning and props etc, and don't let the prop guide move when drilling. Don't do what i did and let it move a fraction as with a 6 bolt hub you have no room for error, i drill slightly over size holes so as to give it a bit of leeway.
The thrust of the prop must go through the hub and not the bolts the bolts are there to squeeze the hub together its the hub that takes all the shock and load. ie. no side pressure on the bolts. If there is side pressure on the bolts they will break.
What size props are you going to use?
Dont forget to keep a close eye on the engine temperatures use a temp. gauge, try to keep it under 100C.
The C/F props i got from SDS hobby were as good as the PT props i had been using and wrecking on regular occasions they even looked the same, i have bought 6 and 3 did not need any balancing and the other 3 i balanced easy as with some black paint on the tips no problem, the 26 X10 PT. props i used cost $120 + but the Chinese props come out at $35 each i suspect that the PT props may have originated in China anyway.
But there is alway a but i have not heard anything in the blogs of the Chinese props falling apart at 6000RPM yet and i have run mine no problem.
I am sure there would be quick warnings on RCU if these Chinese props were failing and i have not seen anything yet.
PS keep those little plump pinkies out of the way.
How are you going to start the engine?
I have made an adapter that fits into my AEG 18volt drill that drill has monster torque and is ok but i still managed to wreck the chuck with the adapter spinning in the chuck, that cost me $40 for a new chuck, i have just ordered from Hobby King there heavy duty starter for "up to to 80cc engines" its on its way from China now so i have not had a chance to try it yet it has an electric motor that was used for a 110cc motor bike and a 6 to 1 reduction gear.

Loved my Xoar 23x8, till i deadsticked it and broke it

I did buy an new xoar, and I've got two types of JXF props. One looks just like the Xoar, the other like the one in your pic, with the square tips. Don't know why.

I don't have a picture of myself on this computer, buy we were talking together at the field some months back. I was flying my 50cc Yak and working on sideslipping it in from the carpark. You've seen me do the odd wobbly rolling harrier circle and hover with it too. Shame I don't get to the field very often.

Scratch that, here's one of me with my new baby Amelia back in August.

Thanks...that all clicks together, every new kid deserves a new plane for the dad! Congratulations

==============================
Now....is there a agreed convention for prop/spinner hole alignment with cylinder/compression etc?

I have to cut the CF spinner to clear the prop...any good tricks?

How about dirty big long bolts for the center of the spinner...mine is 5mm and need to be about 120mm long.....and not stretch or sheer!
