Hi Gary, great just like Xmas yummy yummy.
Another bit of learning the hard way is to buy a second ignition, sender and spark plug for spare, they are cheap enough and that will enable you to eliminate a few problems with a non starting engine by just swapping the ignition etc. if it will not start. Same go,s for the sender and plug, it will eliminate a lot of the starting problems.
Also it may be a good idea to check the timing just to be sure before starting easy peesy to do and that will eliminate that from any problem you may have.
Dave.

Lonz.

I have only used the four bolt pattern, but have tried drilling props "both ways" that is with holes across the prop, and diagonally. I doubt there is a difference in strength between the different methods, so in the end I drill them to give me the best throw on the prop through the compression stroke. For me that has the prop at exactly 12:00 as the compression is felt. I throw the prop across and down at about 45 degrees.

As for cutting the spinner, you can't go past the definitive guide: http://www.flyinggiants.com/forums/show ... hp?t=11969 You won't be using a starter on that eggshell....

I bought my M5 spinner bolt from Coventry Fastners. Bought a bunch of spares for the prop hub as well.

Temporary Spinner bolt is a length of 5mm threaded rod ( ..... from Bunnings....it's only in tension )

and a nut and a nylock...fit into the spinner front recess...

might dremel a slot into then exposed end of the rod for a screw driver...

If it's from Bunnings, are you sure it's not 10/32?

many have made this mistake, but on prop bolts. With consequences!

I am sure they had a Metric rack.

I cannot defeat the two lock nuts with a pair of big spanners....
