This is a video recorded with a FlyCam2. It was mounted on Dean Schubacks Spectra glider. A great flight and a fantastic view from Belrose out to the sea. (Recorded: March 2009 in Belrose) If you have trouble viewing it or want to keep it you can download the movie file (12MB) by clicking here.
Glider Towing in Belrose. Camera is on Mark Ter Laaks tug pointing backwards to Stephen MacMahoons glider. (Recorded: Sept. 2008 in Belrose.) Download (14.3MB) here.
This is a test of an RC Parachute Jumper built by Mark Ter Laak. The plane equipped with the mount to carry the 1.5kg of the Parachutist is not ready yet but a heli works as well.... On the controls of the Parachutist: Mark Ter Laak, Heli: Logo 600, pilot Peter Wyss and at the camera Stephen MacMahon. Download (6.2MB) here.
Here’s about 3 minutes of video from our 2006 scale day. The focus is on the Battle of Britain era with warbirds in full flight and a nicely dubbed accompanying soundtrack. Great stuff!
Here’s the maiden flight for Dave Pound’s huge TA152. She’s being put through her certification, including required aerobatics, prior to Dave investing the time required to add the canopy, paint job and scale finish. Looking and sounding great Dave – can’t wait to see the smoke system in action! (Recorded: 6/03/2009)
Comment from Dave: In the video on the first landing attempt i came into the approach to high and to steep. So it was too fast and would have run off the end of the strip and had to go around, but on the throttle up the engine did not clear from the tick-over decent and went rich on mid-range and i should have pulled up the retracts as well and it was struggling on the climb out and at 45 pound i need all the power i can get, at the top of the climb out i could see it starting to stall so i turned left and went with the torque of the motor, pointed the nose down and all was sweet again.
Check this one out! Another excellent gliding video. This time from Dean's Discus towed behind Stephen's tug. This is a long 12 min video and a rather big download but it is certainly worth the wait. (Recorded: 2/05/2009)
And a second video from Dean's Discus. Again towed behind Stephen's tug. A shorter video this time with an excellent landing but unfortunately the camera run out of power so we are missing the last few seconds from the landing! (Recorded: 2/05/2009)
An older video from Mammoth Scale Fly-in at Shepparton in Victoria 2007. Starring our own Col Buckley!
