As an avid reader of the WRCS web site you are obviously aware that our editor Clive had a string of bad luck in the last weeks.

His usual routine was to turn up on the Saturday with a beautiful new plane, spend some time getting the engine(s) to run smoothly, go for the maiden flight, ..... collect the pieces.

We have dutifully recorded Clive's maiden flights (see here and here) and there was already a place on the "Unhappy Endings" page reserved for his newest model which was to be maidenend last Saturday.

But.... we are happy to report that his latest maiden was SUCCESSFUL and despite having several flights Clive managed to keep his model in one piece and take it home without damage!

Grand Southern Cross Model Aero Rally

In case you were flying at Belrose over the weekend 27/28 March and noticed that many of the regulars were missing - the chances are that you will recognise most of the missing persons on the pictures below.

The Grand Southern Model Cross Aero Rally in Luskintyre (near Maitland) looks like one of the events no RC enthusiast should miss according to our chums that went along... Click [Read More] on the right

Stan's excellent diary now reaches part 12 - covering running-in, electrickery and taxi tests. You can get to the download page by clicking: http://wrcs.org.au/information/member-articles/248-hurricane-diaries-part-12-engine-ignition-and-wiring

We had well over 300 votes cast in our last poll - thank you all! The topic was what you'd like to see more of. Mostly people wanted to see a webcam at the field, so we are working on that (with some technical hurdles on bandwidth etc at the Belrose location, and a few people worried that their better half will be able to keep track of them), and more member articles was also popular - so please keep 'em coming.

We've put up a new poll, now, to ask you which comps you'd like to see/enter. This poll allows you to vote once every 7 hours or so - so if you like several of the categories, please feel free to vote on several different occasions (eg: if you visit the site every day or two), and not just for your number 1 choice. Voting on the right - on the home page. We are trying to get the polling to accept several votes on one visit, but so far no joy!

I've also started a new forum topic, and would love to hear your views on what would make events more appealing, why you think attendance has fallen for some events, and what we could do differently. Go here to post a reply or to read what people are saying: http://wrcs.org.au/forums/12/113

You do need to be logged-in to post a reply on the forum. You can do that from the home page (bottom right) and, if you experience problems, just contact Clive, Peter Wyss or Col Buckley. We'll be glad to help.

Thanks

Clive
